I know its such a shame these tourist attractions take the eyes away from you . such ridiculous high entance fees ,most families just cant do it from their holiday budgets so the kids miss out on a lot of things , never been to Dodge City and looks like I may never bother , I do fancy Dollywood sometime in the future ,better start saving up for it now I think as I have just checked the web site and got a shock : Regular (Ages 12 - 59) $53.50 Child (Ages 4 - 11) $42.35 Senior (Ages 60+) $50.20 Gold Pass N/A $110

Aw, Dodge is all right, but it's not really "real", y'know? There are historic cowtowns left around here; in fact, I grew up in one, the nearby town of Miami, home of the National Cowcalling Contest.
You're right, though; most families can't afford to go to these places. Just checked, and to get into Six Flags over Texas (near Dallas) it's an at the gate cost of 50 bucks for adults, 30 for kids under six.
Forget about going to a football game; last I heard, it was a hundred bucks for really lousy tickets in the end zone.
What really gets me is the price of movie tickets...I guess some folks wouldn't consider 12-15 dollars for a first run movie to be expensive, but when popcorn is 7 dollars and a soda is 5.... I just wait 'til it's out on video.
yes we will do that more times in the Future, hang on for a home movie , I have to admit though popcorn just doesn't seem to taste the same when I make it at home, always something special about being at the movies to me , mind I wouldnt have to be feeling guilty about being one of those annoying people who rustle the packaging of the goodies im comsuming periodically throughout the movie , one of my bad habits ):
yes Football entrance tickets seem to be extortionate , guess its the high salalries these players are receiving, well the English team players do ,not sure about the Americans.
I'm finding it harder and harder to watch a movie these days, even on video. I'm so tired of these actors telling us how we should live, how we should sacrifice for the good of the planet, when they drive huge, gas guzzling expensive vehicles, jet set off to Monoco to play on their luxurious yachts and pretend they're taking the moral high ground when they have the sexual habits of back alley tomcats, drive drunk and do more drugs than can be found at the local pharmacy/chemist.
Also, long gone are the days when footballers (either ones) could be heroes to kids. The money has ruined that and as soon as they get the big bucks, their performance drops off. I still follow American football, but it's not very important to me, not nearly as much as it once was.
You would have to pay ME to go to an American pro football game. The last time I went was years and years ago and it was bad enough then. There'll be some drunken fools behind you (or all around) spouting off obscenities and making enjoying the game impossible. From what I read and hear, footy is pretty much the same.
Remember the Roman "bread and circuses" that kept the masses' minds off how bad the country was becoming? It's the same now, only it's football and food stamps.
Aw, I'm sorry to vent but have just been so disgusted with American politics for years and years and here lately it's become unbearable.
