Meet our family pet , we dont know his age ,we have had him 14 years and he was already old when we found him, he has survived quite a bit of trauma iin his life, the neighbours dog had him as a chew toy one day ): then he was thrown in the rubbish along with some leaves and stones by an unknowing Gardener.....he is a hardy little thing though and will probably outlive me...

Aw, my folks always like turtles/tortoises and I do too. Right before mom passed away they were showing me one that had taken up residence in their yard.

Fascinating creatures, thanks for sharing this!

Also meant to add that Churchill is one of my favorite historical characters. If I conjure up images of England, his face is one of the first.

He'd be one of my dinner guests in that hypothetical "who would you invite?" game.

You know when we were trying to decide on a name for the tortoise we were not sure if it was a boy or girl , so we had the name Cicciolina as a female choice !!!! wonder if she would make the dinner guest lsit too !!! lol ....
